BuddyPress is built to bring people together. It works well to enable people with similar interests to connect and communicate. Some of the uses might be:

• A campus wide social network for your university, school or college.

In the old days (that’s 10 years ago in Web Design terms)

Web design has changed. In the old days you use to have to know a whole load of HTML even to get something simple online. Don’t get me wrong there are some really good sources of information on the web and all done in pure HTML. However most of us online have one simple requirement, we want to publish our content online ourselves without having to call a web developer when we need to add a photo onto our websites.

Here’s a better way

HyperStream are not loyal to technology. We like change. When a better way of doing something presents itself we usually adopt that technology and are always open to new ideas, this is our ethos. This is why we currently build 80% of our websites using WordPress. Simply put this is one of the best open source publishing platforms available today and something of a revolution in content management and publishing.

The New Rules of Marketing

I recently finished reading The New Rules of Marketing & PR by David Meerman Scott. Thanks for the great advice and information David. I will start to implementing some of these ideas in my own website.

The book does not go into detail about the technology (that’s our job), but does provide great advice on how to use online tools to reach buyers directly by creating compelling content.

A highly recommended read for anyone who is looking to improve their online marketing. 10/10

All I needed was a way to quickly create, assign tasks and track the time taken. I also knew that having an online web based system would be very beneficial.

My priorities were as follows:

• Need to work online and be shared with clients and staff
• Be able to track time
• Budget was limited, so free or open source was important and to we needed the ability to install on own servers

After much trial and error over the course of a few weeks I eventually settled with ClockingIT. This is the perfect project management system for small teams and can I highly recommend that anyone looking for a new system checks it out before making any decisions.

What Tversity essentially allows you to do is stream video from your computer to a number of devices such as XBOX, PS3, and WII. Using the network availability of these consoles video is streamed across your home or office local network.

In addition to allowing you to watch video on your TV, it can also stream audio, and load your photos. The only downside to this solution is that both your computer and console needs to be switched on.

The main thing is not to forget your master password. You may already be using a password manager that comes with your browser. However what would you do if it crashed or worse still got hacked.
